Lakeview Highlands is a beautiful neighborhood on Mercer Island’s west side and home to Paul Allen’s estate and some of the Island’s most beautiful waterfront homes.
Located just south of Groveland Park, the entrance to this neighborhood is marked by two wide white-brick pillars. The neighborhood of approximately 100 homes flows in a circular loop with multiple lanes extending off the main loop.
Paul Allen’s 11-acre estate in Lakeview Highlands includes several homes, a basketball gym, a helipad, sculpture gardens, and more. Allen’s neighbors benefits from the security of his guards who stand watch 24 hours on one of the main streets exiting the neighborhood.
Most of the homes in Lakeview Highlands were built during the mid-century, many with notable architects and builders, including Ralph Anderson, Anker Molver, and Black & Caldwell. The waterfront has been almost completely redeveloped since then with luxurious waterfront mansions. Only a few homes are listed for sale in this neighborhood every year. In 2017, the westside median home sale price was $2,200,000, though most of the waterfront homes in this neighborhood have sold for over $3,000,000.
