When once most Islanders traveled to Seattle or Bellevue for a nice dinner out, Mercer Island’s food scene is looking (and tasting) a lot better these days.
For date night or business lunch, head to Bennett’s Bistro or Mioposto. Bennett’s has a great seasonal menu featuring Beecher’s comfort food classics, including Tomato Soup and Mac ‘n Cheese, as well as fresh seafood, pasta dishes, and more. Mioposto is also a great spot offering delicious open-flame cooked pizza, lasagna, sandwiches, and more.
For a relaxed venue to take the family or watch the game, check out The Islander or Island Broiler. Meet friends for happy hour at the Island’s oldest commercial establishment, the Roanoke Inn.
For delicious, environmentally friendly fare, Homegrown Sustainable Sandwich Shop is a new and popular locally owned spot.
Mercer Island is home to a handful of pizza parlors – Mo’s Pizza, Island Crust Cafe, Sahara Pizza, and the newly opened Pagliacci Pizza and Mioposto Pizzeria. Tuscan Stone, which sells pizza food-truck style (from a trailer downtown Mercer Island), is also popular with thin-crust wood-fired pizza aficionados.
Yuzen Japanese Restaurant is a favorite south-end restaurant – great sushi and the kids’ bento boxes are a hit with families. Craving great Vietnamese? Try Phobulous or I Love Pho. For great Thai food, try Pon Proem or Anise Thai.
Best fish and chips in town? Don’t miss Freshy’s Seafood Shack.
